District-wide Elementary Visual Arts

Welcome to the District Visual Arts Page

Kindergarten through grade 5 students participate in a variety of studio activities including ceramics, drawing, fibers, graphics, painting, and sculpture. The children practice 21st century skills of creative problem solving, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and cross-cultural relationships by
  • Producing original art work showing creativity
  • Incorporating the elements of art and principles of design
  • Recognizing connections between art works, word cultures, and historic periods
  • Identifying ideas, feelings, and emotions in art
  • Working respectfully and responsibly

District Art Show

The District Art Show, held at the Orion Performing Arts Center, Mt. Ararat Middle School , is always scheduled in the spring.  Be sure to check your school's website for upcoming events. 

Selected student art works, grades K-12, is placed on display in the lobby. The event begins with an artists' reception and viewing followed by an awards ceremony  in the theater.
